Bicheno, one of Tasmania's most popular holiday spots, is located on the east coast, approximately two and a half hours drive from Hobart. Bicheno harbour was used by fishing boats since 1803, then the town was settled in the middle of 19-th century as a port from where the coal from a nearby mine was shipped to Hobart. The Bicentennial walk from Redbill Beach to the Blow Hole is great and offers the best of the Bicheno coastline. You can shortcut from the Blow Hole straight to the center of the town. Small pools of water left behind by ebbing tide are home to a fascinating congregation of sea creatures and plants. Please click on the image to enlarge it.
