Wynyard is a small town on Tasmania's north coast, about 70 km west of Devonport known for its Tulip Festival in October. We missed it by about two weeks and all that was left was a couple of bright patches - as we were told, flower heads are removed for better bulb formation. Two other town's main attractions are Fossil Bluff, and the Table Cape with its views of the Bass Strait and a lighthouse.
Waratah (60 km south of Wynyard just off the Murchison Highway) is famous for its spectacular waterfall in the town centre.
