Yalgoo is a small town 220 km east of Geraldton approximately two thirds of the way to Mt. Magnet. The area is famous for its spectacular fields of wildflowers in July-September commonly known as everlastings. These pictures were taken along the alternative route - from Morawa to Yalgoo. It saves quite a distance for those who want to bypass Geraldton, though road is unpaved and can deteriorate between gradings.
Another interesting place in the area is the Jokers Tunnel (12 km south-east of Yalgoo on the road to Paynes Find). It was carved through the rock in late 19s century by early gold prospectors.
